A giant catfish was caught near Vratsa

A man pulled out a giant catfish from the waters of the Vratsa dam, announced bTV. What's curious is that Dimitar Dimitrov caught the 47-kilogram fish with a carp rod. The cord was intended for carp and the bait was artificial corn, but... the catfish was caught. According to Dimitar, the fish was 1.70 m long.

„I realized it's something big, there was nobody to help me hold the fishing rod, my boat was deflated. I had to inflate it so I can get further in the water and it started pulling me at around 150 m. in the dam. It was very difficult to pull the fish from the bottom, but I got lucky and managed to pull it out“, says Dimitar.

He barely made it to the river bank with the heavy catch and after he took a picture with the trophy, Dimitar released it back in the water.
